Regular maintenance guarantees the durability of your leather parts. Here are a few tips from Meelaq:
Shoes
We recommend that you waterproof your model before wearing it, and then regularly to protect and preserve it over time.
To care for smooth leather, you can clean your model without rubbing, using moistened absorbent cotton and leather cleaner. Wax your model with a suitable waxing product as soon as the need arises.
To care for nubuck, like suede, you can clean your model with a rubber or suede brush and a suitable cleaning foam.
Do not wash your shoes, as this may cause deformation.
After each maintenance session, allow your model to air dry at room temperature, avoiding all sources of heat.
Leather is a natural, living material that needs to rest between uses. We advise you to alternate the wearing of your shoes and to put them on wooden shoe trees to naturally absorb moisture and maintain their original shape. Store your model in the shade, away from heat and humidity.
Jackets and coats
We recommend that you waterproof your model before wearing it, and then regularly to protect and preserve it over time.
You can clean your model without rubbing with a soft cotton pad moistened with leather cleaner. Leather garments can't be washed, they have to be cared for. To preserve the look and suppleness of smooth leather like lambskin, use a maintenance milk. Do not use wax or grease on your garment.
The lining of your model can also be cleaned with a moistened cotton pad and mild soap (e.g. Marseille soap).
After each care session, leave your garment to dry on a hanger in the open air at room temperature, avoiding all sources of heat.
To store your model, put it on a wide, padded hanger that supports the shoulders and helps maintain the garment's original shape. Make room for it in the shade, away from heat and humidity.
